Lord Nelson - 8 June 2007
Saturday, 09 June 2007
Back at the Lord Nelson, it was a quiet night. It was good to meet the boys from Fun House, a punk rock outfit, who were gigging round the corner at Manhattans where it was apparently just as quiet. And in the second half, in the audience (and I use the term loosely) were a couple of the boys from Storm with their lasses. Their support was appreciated. Pam was as welcoming as always and reckons that we are "Old Dogs" not Road Dogs. She could be right!

I discovered a video by Lyndon Anderson on YouTube and it is so outstanding that I just had to include it in the blog. This is a fabulous performance! See it by clicking here.

Flying Horse - 3 June 2007
Monday, 04 June 2007

We've had a bit of a break while Mick studiied thunderstorms near the Pyrenees. And, this was the first time out under the new name. The break seems to have done everybody good and has certainly reinvigorated the band. A good night with a lively crowd. Thanks go to Bill and Mick for translating the drunken Northumbrian ramblings of the lass that wanted to sing. Mike and me couldn't understand a word!

Carvin Jones - 20 May 2007
Monday, 21 May 2007
I was dragged along by my brother-in-law to see Carvin Jones at the Boardwalk in Sheffield. What an excellent showman Carvin is. Check out his website at http://www.carvinjones.com/.

From Bluessential to Road Dogs
Wednesday, 16 May 2007

It had to happen! The band started out as a purely blues outfit. Over the past year, and particularly since November last year, the band has moved away from a purely blues rock format and further into rock and soul. In fact, the set is predominantly rock and soul these days and is a good eclectic mix with some great renditions of songs from the rock mainstream. For people who've seen us, the name Bluessential is definitely not a problem, However, for some venues and punters, the name Bluessential was simnply putting them off. So now we're the Road Dogs reflecting our dedication to gigging.
