di·a·ry (dī'ə-rē) noun. plural diaries A record, especially a personal record of events, experiences, FORTHCOMING APPOINTMENTS/EVENTS and observations; a journal. From the Latin diārium, daily allowance, daily journal, from diēs, day. In the context of a gigging band or a venue, a method of keeping track of planned musical performances (see GIG). This definition is not to show how bloody clever I am, but a great way to sound off about two more double bookings - enough said!
