Way back in November 2005, we played a venue in Newcastle. The venue was HEAVING - so much so that to get to the toilets in the interval, we had to exit by one door, walk round the venue and enter by another door. We had a fantastic night and judging by the punters' reactions so did they - we played three encores. So then began the process of getting a rebooking. The guy who owns the place, who was not there, promised us a rebooking and after various phone calls abd emails, I finally spoke to him again today. Guess what? He didn't want to rebook us because the takings were down that night so long ago - apparently no problem with what we played. It has taken him 15 months to realise this. He seemed a little miffed when I suggested that he'd wasted my time for over a year!
