A fair old way up the A1 is a great venue called the Beadnell Towers Hotel. Before we went. we were told that the venue was small - what nonsense. A good size and a very warm welcome from management and custiomers alike, contributed to a great evening. Mick had a croaky throat though to hear him sing, you would never have guessed. Next week, the venue has the last act for this season, the Acoustic Beatles. We are looking forward to going back when new season starts in October. A thoroughly good night.

The trek back was long and, being a little peckish, we stopped at two services. The first was closed. The second only had a filling station. "What sandwiches do you have", we said. "What would you like?", she replied. "Do you have Hot pastrami sandwich on rye with mustard and a thin slice of pickle ?", we asked. "Er, I don't think so!". Why do these people bother?
